It's official...my pets are spoiled...

For Christmas Santa brought both my little darlings something really soft and comfy to sleep on so they wouldn't have to sleep on the cold hard floor.  Radar's bed is orthopedic to help his back that he's been having trouble with lately.  Ollie's bed speaks for itself...speaks volumes actually.  He has the attitude to go along with the chaise lounge also.   Any pet would feel honored to have these beds and you would think wouldn't be able to wait to jump into them and catch a long nap.  Right?   Wrong.

They prefer to sleep on my couch and...

my bed...(sigh).  Yes they are officially spoiled but not because of what they got for Christmas.  I think it's obvious why.

'I'm dreaming of a White Christmas......'

What a beautiful sight. Nothing like watching the snow fall, drinking hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies on TV.

Baby Dragon Kaid...

Kaid's first Halloween was pretty hilarious. He was just happy to be outside and was totally oblivious to everything going on around him. He hollered as he walked down the street and sounded like he was roaring...or at least he sounded like a baby dragon roaring. His 'followers' were his sister and her friend and his cousins. All beautiful girls...
Mama had to help get him getting going...
One last hug from Bailey...
I don't think he was going to win this staring contest...
He got pretty excited...
Wasn't sure what to do when candy was offered. Mama slaps his hands at home when he reaches into the candy bowl...
On to the next house with Mama...
Had to hitch a ride on Daddy, dragons' feet get tired...
What did they put in there?...
Oops...dragon down...
Yes that is spit up on his little dragon belly...
Dang it! Big feet keep getting in the way...
But you can't keep a good dragon down...
It's been a long night. Time for Mama to take this little dragon home to bed...

Another drought victim...

Driving north on Hwy 287 just north of Decatur on the righthand side of the road is a rest area. There is a huge mimosa tree there that I have enjoyed seeing every spring and summer. It's huge and its blossoms are gorgeous and smell soooo good.

It's branches spread as wide as a tractor trailer truck if not just a little wider. I know these trees aren't supposed to live very long, but this one has been here for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, because of the drought last year...

...this year it isn't quite as pretty. Sadly the drought took its toll on this majestic piece of art.

Some of its branches withstood the struggle of no rain for days. I just don't think it's enough to keep this roadside sentinel alive.

Its days are numbered because I'm sure they'll cut back its branches and leave it deformed and forlorn looking. But I will always remember when it looked like this everytime I drove by it. I knew it was spring and it made me smile.

A Family of Baseball Fans...

Happy Mother's Day Mama!

Of course it's always more fun when you see this at the end of the game...

The view of Center Field was the best... :)

On Mother's Day this year our family and some good friends once again gathered at the ballpark. We love baseball. Some of you have witnessed my past play by play comments on Facebook. We sat in the All You Can Eat Seats, which by the way is definitely the way to go. Not bad seats and you can sit in the air conditioning if you choose to...where all the food is...just sayin'. We've done this before on Mother's Day and hopefully we'll be doing it again and again...

Some of you may remember a post I had on here awhile back regarding the single shoes found on the side of the road. Where do they come from, how do they get there...alone? Well I found a clue. I'm not sure what this means. One shoe is already missing so you can only recycle one? or You can only recycle one shoe so the other has to find a new owner so it wanders away? Shoes of the world unite! Don't be walked on any longer! Put your foot down and demand equality. Don't let the leftists push you around, stand up for your rights. Okay I really can't go on with the shoe puns any more. I feel like a shoelace, fit to be tied. (groan)
Where do all the single shoes on the side of the road come from? I mean first of all, you’re walking down a major freeway. That’s strange enough, but you don’t notice that one of your shoes comes off? You get home that evening and start to get ready for bed, you reach over to take off your shoes and then notice one of them is missing? Or while you’re driving, does your shoe suddenly come off your foot and fly out the window? Do they each have a story? Like the one I saw while driving across an overpass, was it going to jump? Major headlines: ‘Men’s Size 13 Wingtip Plunges to Death off the 287 Ramp Onto I20’. I want to put their pictures on beer bottles, because I’m sure no sober person lost their shoe and just left it behind. ‘This Bud’s for You, Have You Seen Me?’ Or maybe I should collect them all and start an online service, ‘Find Your Sole Mate at JustDoIt.com’.

These first two are a pair of Nikes. One was in the intersection and the other by the median. They decided they didn't want to travel together?

This guy get tired of being walked on?

Unzipped itself and jumped?

When I first saw this green one there was a pink one with it. Not sure what happened to the pink one but it's gone. Maybe they had a spat. No that's a different shoe.

This child's shoe was at a fork in the road. Umm...Mama...missing something?

This one was in Wichita Falls. Looks to me like Nikes don't like to stay put. (Thanks Lori)

These are in the parking lot where I work. Not sure what to say, I haven't seen anyone walking around barefoot.

Were these two traveling together? They are a left and a right, maybe one person was wearing them. They are on the side of an underpass.

And this one, a work boot, decided to retire?

It’s just one of life’s unanswered questions and one of those things that makes you go hmm…
