Life outside my window...

The last couple of days the tree outside my living room window has been a very active location. The first visitor I saw was a mourning dove but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of it. Later I saw this whole herd of Cedar Waxwings.  Yes I know the correct wording is flock of birds, but the way these birds were swooping up and down through the branches and around the buildings they looked like they were stampeding, thus the 'herd of birds'.

Sometimes it's hard to see the red wax tips on their wings so I enlarged this one so you could see them.

Ollie really wanted to get up in the tree with them.

Then this handsome fellow showed up.  Maybe Phil the Groundhog was right.  Maybe we are going to have an early spring.

As cold as it was yesterday, it was really nice today.  I'm not sure if this is the same guy that showed up yesterday,  but when I walked up to the window to take his picture, he cocked his head and looked at me as if to say, "Hey, you still here?  Get outside!"

Then this little guy showed up, but not for long. He leaped onto the branch of another tree and scampered off.

 I'm ready for spring...and warm weather...and wildflowers!

Cheer Texas takes Oklahoma City !!!!!

Bailey's cheerleading team had a competition last weekend in Oklahoma City and they won First Place in their divisiion. This is Bailey after an hour of getting the hair and makeup just right. Needless to say she and her Mama were glad it was done.

Of course we had to have the princess pose...

She even conned Kirk into posing with her. Yes I will catch a lot of flack for this one. It's totally worth it.

Michelle just opted for the Texas Cheer salute...

There was flying...

and balancing...

and catching a lot of air...

and flipping...

and Coach Eddie...

Cheerleading has changed a lot since I was a teenager. These girls are real athletes. I'm not sure I could have done these things even when I was their age. I'm very proud of Bailey and her team. They work very hard and it shows. Can't wait until next time. GO CHEER TEXAS!!!
