This little man loves to have his picture taken and also likes to be on the other side of the camera. He always uses my cell phone to take pictures and every time he sees me get my camera out, he wants to take the pictures. He always grins real big and says 'cheese' as soon as the camera is pointed at him. He even jumps in others' pictures when he shouldn't. These are just a few shots I got of him one weekend he stayed with me. I never get tired of watching him. He is a blessing and huge ray of sunshine for everyone in our family. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Kaid...

Lady bug, lady bug .. fly away home....
...your house is on fire and your children are home.
Lady bugs are such friendly little critters. I remember saying this little quip when I was little. I think we also used the same saying for 'doodle bugs'. Maybe it was just me. I wasn't very creative so maybe I only knew one bug verse. I did name all my dolls Susie. I think I'll name this lady bug Susie. yep

Where's Kaid?
This weekend I had four of my grandkids stay for a couple of nights. Kaid slept with me. Getting ready for bed both nights included his bath and playing in the pile of pillows on my bed afterward. These pictures show the fun he was having but they don't let you hear the sound of his laughter. I love this little man. The three girls stayed in the living room watching movies and giggling. Another beautiful sound. I love them, too. My house was a little bit of a mess when they left but it's back in order now. But it's also very quiet. Miss their laughter.

Life outside my window...
The last couple of days the tree outside my living room window has been a very active location. The first visitor I saw was a mourning dove but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of it. Later I saw this whole herd of Cedar Waxwings. Yes I know the correct wording is flock of birds, but the way these birds were swooping up and down through the branches and around the buildings they looked like they were stampeding, thus the 'herd of birds'.
Sometimes it's hard to see the red wax tips on their wings so I enlarged this one so you could see them.
Ollie really wanted to get up in the tree with them.
Then this handsome fellow showed up. Maybe Phil the Groundhog was right. Maybe we are going to have an early spring.
As cold as it was yesterday, it was really nice today. I'm not sure if this is the same guy that showed up yesterday, but when I walked up to the window to take his picture, he cocked his head and looked at me as if to say, "Hey, you still here? Get outside!"
Then this little guy showed up, but not for long. He leaped onto the branch of another tree and scampered off.
I'm ready for spring...and warm weather...and wildflowers!

Cheer Texas takes Oklahoma City !!!!!
Bailey's cheerleading team had a competition last weekend in Oklahoma City and they won First Place in their divisiion. This is Bailey after an hour of getting the hair and makeup just right. Needless to say she and her Mama were glad it was done.
Of course we had to have the princess pose...
She even conned Kirk into posing with her. Yes I will catch a lot of flack for this one. It's totally worth it.
Michelle just opted for the Texas Cheer salute...
There was flying...
and balancing...
and catching a lot of air...
and flipping...
and Coach Eddie...
Cheerleading has changed a lot since I was a teenager. These girls are real athletes. I'm not sure I could have done these things even when I was their age. I'm very proud of Bailey and her team. They work very hard and it shows. Can't wait until next time. GO CHEER TEXAS!!!

Saga of the pet beds continues...
Radar has only used his bed once since he got it. He would rather be plastered to my side on the couch. Ollie has decided it fits his body just perfectly.
Neither of them laid on the chaise lounge even once. They sniffed it but wouldn't lay on it. Kaid on the other hand thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Yes I sent my grandson home with a dog bed to use as his own chair.
I'm a terrible Nonnie...giving my grandson a dog bed...wonder if it will warp him forever?

It's official...my pets are spoiled...
For Christmas Santa brought both my little darlings something really soft and comfy to sleep on so they wouldn't have to sleep on the cold hard floor. Radar's bed is orthopedic to help his back that he's been having trouble with lately. Ollie's bed speaks for itself...speaks volumes actually. He has the attitude to go along with the chaise lounge also. Any pet would feel honored to have these beds and you would think wouldn't be able to wait to jump into them and catch a long nap. Right? Wrong.
They prefer to sleep on my couch and...
my bed...(sigh). Yes they are officially spoiled but not because of what they got for Christmas. I think it's obvious why.
